I feel like I've been making good progress on learning how to use different shaders and textures in Blender, but I've still never done anything with water yet. So that's why this little project started. Wide open ocean looked pretty good, but it needed something more. So in went some rocky islands. Still felt like it was missing something, so I added walkways and a big metal dome thing to make it look like a scene from a MYST game.
The thought has crossed my mind to try making a point-and-click with pre-rendered scenes. It's one of those things that SEEMS like it should be simple to figure out, so I expect it to be unexpectedly difficult. That being said, it's just another idea for now. Can't promise it will ever progress beyond that.
